Question
When President Kennedy was assinated, I was stationed in Turkey at a very small base.  We did not have access to english speaking radio station and we had to get our current news from a variety of sources - mostly behind real time.
When President Kennedy was assinated we were able to glean near real time information from monitoring foriegn radio broadcasts, Radio Free Europe, press releases from various embassies, and teletype messages from Stars and Stripes, as well as military communications.  The troops were kept informed of all events associated with the assination up to and including the swearing in of President Johnson.  This was done by a series of eighteen mimeographed bulletins over a three day period.  I have a complete set of those bulletins in good condition and they may be the only complete set privately owned - this because of the small number of military personnel at Cigli Air Base and because I worked at the point of origination.  I had forgot about these bulletins until I found them while sorting my stored goods in preparation for downsizing my home.  My grown children do not seem to be interested in this collection of bulletins.  My question after this long background is simply this.  Do you think they are rare enough to be considered colletibles?  If so, do you have any recommendations regarding selling them?

Answer
Hi Ernie,
Thanks for the e-mail and your question regarding military bulletins.
The only way I can answer this is that while these items look interesting they  probably are "collectible" the problem comes in with the question who is the "collector"?
So the question becomes seeking the collector and then finding out what he "the collector" is willing to pay. You might seek out Historians, Kennedy Memorabilia Collectors, Presidential information collectors, etc. Probably the best way would be to  put them up for auction on eBay.
I hope this is of some help to you.
Thanks, Bill
