Collectibles--Toys/pez dispeners
Expert: Dale Pike - 3/31/2008
QuestionI found 5 collectible pez dispensers as we were cleaning out my MILaw's house. They have the patent number 2.620.061, so from what I have read, I gather they are quite old. I have two Popeye, one Mickey mouse ( with a Minnie mouse cut out on the side), one Casper (with two Casper cut outs on the side) and one bozo. Could you give my an idea of what these are worth or could you point me somewhere on-line that has a listing of what they are worth? Thank you.
AnswerHi Penny,
You have a great group of dispensers!
The Popeye and the Mickey Mouse are among the very first characters released in the US during the early 50's.
Pending their condition, their value could range from $35 to $135 each.
There are a couple of different versions of Popeye from that time era, as well as a couple of Mickey's, also. Casper came with a red inner sleeve and also a black. He came with a white stem, and also a cream. Bozo came with cutouts on his stem, and also a solid stem, too.
If you would like to email me a photo of the dispensers, I'd be happy to give you a closer value true to their condition.
I can be reached either from my contact page on www.collectingpez.com or emailing rhinopez at aol.
Nice find!
