About DaisyBBGunner
Expertise
Please read my entire profile. First, a BB gun or a pellet gun IS NOT A TOY. These must be treated like any loaded gun. Always assume one is loaded and never point it at anything you do not intend to shoot. Especially, never point it at a person. I can answer questions about Daisy products, including age and history. I can give production dates of most Daisy air rifles/BB guns and toys with a degree of accuracy within a year.

Experience
I am an avid collector of products made by the Daisy Manufacturing Company. These include Daisy BB guns, toys, accessories, catalogs, and advertisements of all kinds dating back to 1890. I have recently published the book An Encyclopedia of Daisy Plymouth Guns, which can be seen at www.daisyencyclopedia.com.

Question
Hi Gary,
I inherited a Daisy 230 (.22LR) and a model 131 (.177).  What can you tell me about them.
Thanks for your time, Jim.

Answer
Jim,

The Daisy 230 Diana was made in Scotland for Daisy starting in 1965 through 1974.  The 230 was one of a group of four of these Diana break-action guns.

The Daisy 160 wsa the lowest of the line, but shot .177 darts, BB's, and pellets and was 33" long.

The Daisy 220 was similar but only shot pellets; it was 36" long and had a grooved forearm.

The Daisy 230 was similar to the 220 in appearance but shoots .22 pellets and is 38" long.  It shot up to 90'.

The Daisy 250 was like the 230, but shot .22 pellets up to 150'.

The Model 131 (1994-1999)41" long, up to 630 fps, break barrel, spring-acation.  Hooded front sight.  Micro-adjustable rear sight.  Rifled steel barrel.  .177 pellet single shot.

My apology for taking so long to get back to you.

Gary
