Question
I have a dumbo pez that is is great condition, it is from 1960's, however there is a spring missing, because when I pop a pez candy out, it does not spring back, I have to manually close head.  How much does that affect the value of pez and can it be fixed?

Answer
Hi Stacey,
Dumbo is a great dispenser!  His value ranges from $15 to $30 on average...  with a busted head spring, his value is closer to the $10 range...
There are two versions of head springs,,,  a metal "spring", and a plastic "leaf"...
Usually it's a broken piece of plastic that will cause either to fail, which results in the replacement of the entire inner slide in order to repair.
Yes, it can be done, but no it's not something a novice should attempt.
It's best to bring the dispenser to one of the conventions that take place around the country, and have a season'ed pro perform the surgery for you.
Hope that helps,
have a Great Holiday!
