Collectibles--Toys/Belt Buckles

Question
Hi,
Let me start off by saying that I understand that what I am asking about is not your field of expertise. I just dont know much of anything about this stuff and am hitting dead ends no matter where I look so I was hoping you may at least be able to point me in the right direction.
I have 2 belts. The belts themselves are just ordinary elastic belts. However one has a metal, enameled belt buckle with "The Jetsons" family on it in full color, and is marked on the back only with the trademark symbol and the year 1985. The second belt is plastic and has the head of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle on it. It is in 3-d, like the front half of an action figures head or something. It is only marked 1989.
Can you possibly tell me anything about these or where I can get info or suggest some places to look, or ask others for help?
Any help is appreciate, and again I understand this is not your area of expertise and its a long shot but it is worth a try..
Thank You

Answer
Hi Jason,

I use eBay.com a lot for research, and found some information on the Ninja Turtles belt. Use this search string:
    ninja turtle* +belt

You can look at both Current Items to see what is out there, and then at Completed Listings (under "Show Only") to see what items sold and for how much.

Try the same with this string:
    jetson* +belt
Right now, there do not appear to be any such items up for auction.

I'd also suggest doing a google.com search for "jetson collectibles" and "ninja turtles collectibles"  You will most likely find individuals who collect items for these characters. Go through their web pages to see if you can find similar items and get more information that way. Some website owners are also willing to respond to emailed questions, but do make use of information on the site that the owner made available to find your own answers before you ask for help.

Hope this is helpful.

Expertise

I am a collector of bubble blowers and can direct others to where they might find a specific bubble blower, and also help them get more information about bubbles and bubble blowers. Feel free to ask any bubble related questions and if I don`t know the answer I`ll give you some other ideas to explore. Please note that I am a COLLECTOR of bubble blowers, not a seller, but I can often point you in the right direction for one you would like to find.

Experience

Experience in the area:
I have been collecting bubble blowers for many, many years, and have around 700 in my personal collection. I have built a "museum" of bubble blowers over the years online at www.BubbleBlowers.com.
