Question
carrier photo
carrier photo
I bought my son a secondhand car carrier and I believe its missing some parts. I can't find a photo of it anywhere to see what it is missing. It is red/grey faux brick stadium with a yellow handle. It has one set of drop down ramps and one set of stationary ones inside and a set of stickers that looks like a stadium crowd. Made in china 1997. Can you help with a model number I can search, or a mfr photo? Thanks!

Answer
Hi Melanie,
What you have there is from 1997 and it's called: 65742 HOT WHEELS RACE AND PLAY CASE
The only thing I can see that you are missing are a few pieces of track and their connectors. I don't have any photos that I could add to what you have there. Any track and connectors will work.

OK.... I found the original instruction sheet for this set.
Here is a link to the page at Mattel: http://service.mattel.com/us/instruction_sheets_results.asp?brand=0&category=0&S
Once at this page, use your find button (click edit then find in your menu bar at the top of your page) In the find box, type 65742. Or you can scroll down until you find the number. Click it and it will give you the instruction sheet in a PDF format.
Good Luck!
Mike

Education/Credentials
There are no Educational Credentials available or needed for this area, just the need to be obsessed! But I guess writing 13 books and countless magazine articles on the subject and being inducted into the Diecast Hall of Fame as a Hot Wheels Historian should be credentials enough to make me an expert. And if I don't know the answer, I'll do me best to find the person that does.
