Collectibles--Toys/'98 First Editions Slideout Premiere collectors?

Question
Hi. I had a question regarding a hot wheel car that I have in my possession. I have a 98 First editions Slideout #2 of 40. This is the typical orange wing and lower body with the mid purple body with the R-Man 6 on the wing. This car is dated as a 1997 carded Mattel car just as the rest are. However, I have also in my possession the same car only in a 96 carded package. The package is entirely different than the one that is for the 98 series. The 98 First Editions came numbered 1-40. The car that I have is numbered #2 of 48. At the bottom of the package in small blue lettering it says "Premiere Collectors Model!" The package is of the old 96 carded packages with the rear end of the Porsche burning out to the right side of the package and the straight top card where the normal car is the new card with the full picture of a car and the slanted left corner card. I have looked and looked to find this similar car and have looked through hot wheels guides all over the internet and have been unable to find my car. Is this 1 of a kind? Who can I contact or what resources do I have to find out what this seemingly rare card is worth? Thank you.

Answer
Hi Jon and thanx for writing.
If you look in any of the 3 editions of my books "Hot Wheels Variations, The Ultimate Guide" found at all bookstores around the world, you will read at the beginning of the 1998 First Editions chapter the following:
"In 1998 there were three different headings on the cards issued for the First Editions.
The first stating there were 48 cars in the series, the second stating 45 cars in the series, and the third stating 40 cars in the series.
If you have cards with 48 on them add $5, cards with 45 on them add $3. The series ended up having 40 cars."
I hope that answers your questions....
