Question
Dear Michael,

I have been trying to track down a toy Hot Wheels [or maybe Matchbox] car I enjoyed when I was a lad back in the 1960's. I think it was called "Rocket Racer", but haven't been able to locate it by that name. It was purple, with a plastic dome roof, streamlined body,  and a single jet exhaust port at the rear. Any idea about it's real name, model number, or dealers who may have one for sale?

Hi David,
Your description is a little vague to say the least, but I know our childhood memories are more about playing with the toy than what it looked like or what it was named. LOL
The only Hot Wheels that I can think of with a name and description like yours would be the "Rocket-Bye-Baby" from 1971. Here is a photo. If it is not it, please let me know and I will keep digging.
