Collections Law/3rd Party Collection Agency

Question
I recently had a 3rd party collection agency sue me for a debt which goes back several years.  In March 2007, the Plaintiff dismissed the case without prejudice.  I just received the dismissal back in December 2007 because the attorney said the court didn't let them know.  Anyway, my question is can I use this dismissal to have the debt removed from my credit reports?  I sent a copy to all three credit agencies, but only deleted the account from my report.  How do I force the other two to erase it from my report as well?

Answer
Send another letter disputing the suit and advise them that the suit was frivolous. They are supposed to investigate it but may not put much time into their investigation. Be pushy and persistent. Be a pest with the credit bureaus until they get tired of dealing with you and remove it just to shut you up. If they resist climb the chain of command at the credit bureaus and push your way up the chain. Threaten them with a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission and if they do not remove it file the complaint. You have chance of getting the item removed because of your persistence.
