Question
How dose one remove collections that were negotiated and paid? I have all the checks that were cashed for payment and looked at my report and they didn't remove any of the negative accounts. Please help if you can thanks.

Answer
Bill:

Unfortunately, the mere act of paying a collection account does not remove it from your credit reports.  Morever, the volition of paying a collection account does not make it a positive item.  Paid or unpaid, a collection account is considered a derogatory listing.

In order to remove these, you need to request a re-investigation of the account tradelines through the credit reporting agencies.  While this is your right under the FCRA, many companies such as Apex Credit Services, LLC are rather proficient in ascertaining which data fields are inaccurate and incomplete.  As a result, many items, even those which are paid, can be deleted from your credit reports.  It just takes some know how.
