Question
Pioneer Collection agency is calling me at home, on my cell, and at work. They claim to be recovering a debt for the "federal government" and if I don't give them my bank account info over the phone I am "refusing the federal government, and they will investigate you". I've told them I will make arrangements to pay my debt, but I am not giving my account info over the phone. Can they say I'm refusing by not giving my info over the phone?
Pioneer is a collection agency used for student loans. Did you take out a student loan to help pay for school?
Don't give the collection any information unless instructed by the courts. How much is the debt, and are you sure you owe it?
