Question
I am married.  Earlier this year, my husband and I took our daughter to the ER.  I am the insurance carrier.  Unfortunately do to a huge oversight, the $50 bill went unpaid and was sent to collections.  The medical bill hit my husbands credit report.  IF MY HUSBAND IS NOT THE CARDHOLDER FOR MEDICAL COVERAGE, CAN THIS BE DONE?

Answer
Deanna:

Yes, in some states this will happen under the doctrine of necessaries which states that a husband is responsible for the medical care of his wife and natural children.
