Question
I owe almost $90k in credit card debt, would have to file divorce to file bankruptcy, and at my current pace will take a decade to repay what I owe.

Let's say I completely stop paying my cards, what is the worse that can happen?

I live in Houston and hear there's no garnishment or repossessions on credit card debt?

Answer
Michael:

You're lucky you live in Texas.  The worst that could happen is that your credit score would be destroyed for seven years and perhaps, beyond insofar as debts are typically sold or you would be sued (even though virtually worthless in TX).  Unpaid judgments stay on your credit reports forever.
