Question
I am terminal with just months to live. I owe several thousand dollars on credit cards which I cannot pay. I have no will and no property worth mentioning. I have a small CD
(10,000 dollars) and a few hundred in checking. I have been living on social security and a small annuity which ends at death. I have enough for cremation. I am unmarried wih no children, but I have two brothers in another state.  If the CD has been cashed out, who can the card company go after to try to get their money?

Answer
Ray:

They could but, they would have to obtain a judgment first and know where the money is located.  It would be safer to cash the CD out and not place it in a bank.
