I just received a dental bill from AZ for my children that is over 2 years old.  We did not have insurance at the time, but I thought I had paid the bill at the time of service.  According to the bill, I only paid a portion of the bill.  We currently live in Florida.  They have record of sending us a bill a year after the appointment and again 6 months ago, however, this is the first bill we have received (I believe it must be due to the move).  Are we still responsible for paying the remainder of this bill even though the service was rendered over 2 years ago? According to the dental office they have had poor record keeping and they are just know collection on past due bills.  I think this is rediculus that this is the first we have heard of this!  It does not seem fair that we should have to pay.

Yes, you are responsible for the debt.  I would advise you to pay it before they place it with a third party debt collector that may report it on your credit report.
