Collections Law/Harassing Calls from C G Services

Question
My grandmama is receiving continuous calls from a collections agency by the name of C G Services regarding her son. They have been told repeatedly that the number is not his number and that my granddaddy has recently passed away and my grandmama does not need any extra stress from being harassed by them. Yet, they still continue to call continuously, sometimes only waiting thirty minutes between calls!
When my uncle talks to them they ask him to give his social security number. I have tried to do some research on this agency online and have only been able to find where other people have been having similar problems from the same number calling. They ask for payment on bills or traffic tickets that do not belong to them.
Do you know anything about C G Services? What can be done to keep them from continuing these harassing calls to my grandmama(she has enough on her without having to worry about these horrible calls)?
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated and I
thank you for your time!

You are certainly welcome in advance.  This collection agency is breaking the law and should be reported to the FTC, the Attorney General and Consumer Affairs in your state (you can Google these and get addresses.)  Write to the agency, with copies to the above, explaining that this is not the right number and instruct them to STOP all contact with anyone at this number.  If they do not comply, call the police and file charges and get your grandmother an attorney and see if he can't get GC Services to set up a retirement fund for you grandmother.  You and your grandmother have my deepest sympathies in regards to the passing of you Grandfather.  You may also want to contact the party they are trying to collect from and tell him to contact an attorney about FDCPA violations.

I hope you have found this helpful and you all have a Merry Christmas.

Expertise

I am qualified to answer questions on the following subjects: FDCPA, FCRA and HIPAA as well as medical collections, general collections and collection agency related issues. I trained these subjects at a nationwide collection agency and customer service call center and audited around 150 representatives for compliance to the laws. I have been in the Collections Industry for over 30 years. I feel that everyone deserves to be treated fairly and with compassion and that is the way I trained collectors. Even though I worked for a Collection Agency, I get great satisfaction in helping those who have been mistreated or in need of help with these confusing issues.

Experience

I was the Compliance Administrator with a nationwide collection agency and customer service call center-I have trained hundreds of collectors on the above referenced topics. I have been in the medical collections industry for over twenty years and research these topics on a daily basis.
