Question
My husband passed away last month and both of us are on SS and SSI disabled due to auto accident and over 65. One of the Credit card companies keep calling from an attorneys office demanding payment, even stating, the spouse is responsible in Florida according to the law. When they call one woman threatened and said if you don't pay up you need to give back everything your husband bought on the credit card. The calls start at 8am and don't stop till 9pm 7 days a week. I don't answer my phone anymore. I am fed up. I try to get the company name and address to send a cease and desists letter, then they deny getting it and still call, even with a return receipt. What is the next step? I'm I responsible for my husband's debts in Florida? Our checking account is joint and only SS and SSI direct deposit go into that account where I pay my bills, they have threatened to attach it, I know they can't. I am tired of the threats, What can I do to stop it?

First go to http://www.creditwrench.com/18questions.html and get a copy of the 18questions. Then listen to the recordings and learn how to use them. Soon the debt collectors won't be calling you anymore. Don't believe they can't attach your SSI but if they do you can make the pay dearly. Go and learn.

Education/Credentials

I have been teaching people how to deal with judgments, mortgage foreclosures and other such problems both on and off the internet for many, many years. I am a Richard Cornforth information provider ever since 2000 and worked with many other organizations and causes since 1980. I was Oklahoma State Chairman for the nationwide drive to defeat the Constitutional Convention which was proposed by various factions within our federal government such as the Council of State Governments and the National Organization of State Governors who were working hard to organize a Constitutional Convention to be held in 1995 for the purpose of rewriting our American Constitution to be more acceptable to the United Nations. I worked with Senator Charles Duke of Colorado and Senator Don Rogers of California and many others across the nation to keep them from getting the number of delegate states required to lawfully hold a Con-Con and we were successful. I have worked with many other legislative issues in Oklahoma and have always been very successful.
