Question I recently won a civil consent judgement IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF CHATHAM COUNTY(GA) against a company called xxx holdings Inc amounting $35000/- paid in monthly instalments starting 15th Nov 2008.
This Savannah(GA) based company has defaulted the first instalment of $5000/- and I hope they will keep on doing this as I live in India.
Is there any way the Law of your country helps in enforcing the Judgement ,eg the court appoints recovery,contempt etc.Kindly advice I would be grateful.

Answer All you would need is to assign the collections to an agency or attorney to pursue collection of your judgment. They would need to research the assets and banking information for the company and attach those assets. A judgment lien can be placed on real estate holdings and if they are in default of the judgment you may garnishee bank accounts. If you cannot locate the accounts you may ask an attorney to file a motion for discovery or what is referred to as a debtor's exam whereby they must answer questions under oath about their income and assets, including bank accounts. They must reveal this information. Once you have the information you may proceed with attachments and get your money.
