Question I received a summons today from the county sheriff for a citibank credit card. I used the prescription drug Mirapex and had some severe gambling and spending compulsions because of the drug. I tried to sue the maker of the drug but was unable to. The card was an unsecured card and the amount I owe is now about $18,000. What should I do? Thank you for writing to me. I am writing to you from Cancun Mexico, where I am doing a seminar, I appreciate your understanding that the time factor is a bit different down here!
The bottom line is that the card that you used is an unsecured credit card. This means that the charges on the card are ot secured(like a car or home ) however the way that collection agencies and attornies make money is when you are served with a lawsuit and do not bother to show up to court, fail to file an answer to the complaint or you fail to demand in writing that they provide you with the MEDIA, which is full proof of the debt.
I want you to deal with this head on. Do not be affraid. Go to Wal Mart and buy a digital recorder and remember my rule. NEVER EVER EVER TALK TO A COLLECTOR WITHOUT RECORDING THE CALL.
