Question
I HAVE A ACCT IN COLLECTIONS WITH A COMPANY CALLED ONCORE (ORIGIONAL CREDITOR GE MONEY. I CURRENTLY RECEIVE 10-20 CALLS PER DAY FROM THIS COMPANY IN REGARD TO THIS ACCT. I AM A COLLECTION REP AND AM WELL AWARE OF MY RIGHTS UNDER FDCPA. I HAVE COMMUNICATED WITH THEM ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND ADVISED THEM WHEN I WILL BE ABLE TO BRING MY ACCT CURRENT. EVEN AFTER SPEAKING TO THEM, THEY CONTINUE TO CALL AND HARRASS ME WITH IN THE SAME DAY AS IF MY SITUATION HAS CHANGED FROM 8AM TO NOON. PLEASE ADVISE ME OF WHAT MEASURES THAT I CAN TAKE TO STOP THE HARRASSMENT. I HAVE TO WORK JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE AND I CANNOT DO SO UNDER THE CURRENT STATUS OF CALLS FROM THIS COMPANY. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME AT 678-886-4698

Answer
The first thing to do is to send them a cease desist letter by certified mail, return receipt requested. Advise them in writing of your circumstance and that they are to cease all phone contact with you. You may also make a proposal for payment in your letter if you are able to make payments.

You may also want to inform them that any more phone calls and you will be filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the State Attorney general. Hopefully this will stop the calls.
