Question
I received a call from a collection co. called ARC they are trying to collect a debt for Helzberg Diamonds (HSBC). I finally have the resources at the end of the month to pay this off in full. The man named Jerry Williams read me all of my creditors and was able to tell me who I was and was not paying. Also, he said he wanted the money NOW and calls me incessently. I finally told him to quit harrassing me and that I would give him 200.00 until the whole balance could be paid at the end of the month. He informed me that that was unacceptable. He wanted me to post date a check for the end of the month which I was hesitant to do. I am expecting a real estate closing but things can fall apart at the closing table which I explained to him. He calls all the time and the last time I finally picked up he told me to shut up and have my attorney call him. I do not believe in bankrupcy and want to make good on my debts. I am close to losing my home, business and car. Please let me know if he is behaving correctly? Thanks.

This collector broke the law.  Do not write him a post dated check, in fact don't answer the phone when he calls.  

You're known as a hot account. (someone that's going to pay)  His managers are all over him plus he's looking towards his commission check .

When you have the funds send them the check.
