Collections Law/What is an NOA?

Question
I had an old medical bill with a hospital and had been making payments on it, and after it dropped below $1,500.00 they stopped sending me bills. I kept making a payment anyway, and then moved out of state for a while. I stopped paying because I wasn't working and now I owe around $1,200.00 on it. They gave it to a collection agency called Aargon with letterhead from the Bourassa Law Group based in Las Vegas. I called and offered them my rebate check from the government for 300 dollars if they'd settle. They said that wasn't enough and that they were going to send an "NOA" to begin legal proceedings. What is an NOA, and is it likely they will sue me for this amount?

Answer
Marie,

It's known as a notice of action.  We think the collector is bluffing.  If this is the case then the collector violated the law.  If you would like our service please visit https://WWW.OntrackFinancialGroup.com.
