Hi,

I made a big mistake. I was summoned to a pre-trial for a credit company for the amount of $2,774.00. I attended the pre-trial and agreed and signed to pay the amount off plus interest owed and court fees in 4 separate monthly payments. The monthly payments will be about $967 a month. After sitting down and going through my budget and realizing I have made a terrible mistake. i cannot afford to pay this amount in 4 payments of $967. What can I do now after I have already signed the agreement at the pre trial?

Paul:

   If you cannot afford the payment, the Plaintiff may allow you to reduce the price and thus, extend the terms or proceed with a default judgment.  I would advise you to call them and request a modification.
