Question
my wages are currently being garnished(for the past 2 and 1/2 months) and i just found out that the company put a hold on my bank account as well. Can they do that? Don't they have to leave me something to support my child? (I am a single parent, no child support or help from anyone). I am also a diabetic, and now have no money to buy groceries, or anything else. What can I do? thank you...penny

Answer
I am afraid they can, however you may be able too ask the courts for a hearing and let them know it is too much of a burden on you and you cannot support your family. They may be able to suspend the garnishment for a while ( maybe indefinitely).

Contact the courts and ask them what you need to do to request a hearing to dispute the garnishment.

Let me know what happens.
