Question
Can a collection agency garnish your wage.
I am trying towork out a payment plan and they
want a lump sum that I cannot afford up front and them
another lump some later. They told me to stop paying on other major bills so I can pay them off in one month.
what can I do?

Answer
Dee:

Yes, in some states they can garnish your wages and levy bank accounts as well as attach assets.  Your choice is to let it go or try and pay it.

Have you requested validation of the debt?  You may consider doing so.
