my mom and dad are being taking to court over c cards we live in tennessee  they are threating to take their house and car the car is paid off the house is not the debt is about 6000.00 dollars they are both on ssi last activity on these accounts is in 2002  they had insurance on one card but it didnt pay anything  can they take anything  what can we do  please help

   If this were a couple of weeks into the future, I could jump right in on this.  However, I do not yet have a Tennessee Bar License (passed the bar, paid the fee, yet to be sworn in before the TN Supreme Court).

  As such, I can only give you limited information at this point.  If they receive a Summons, it is imperative they file an answer.  Otherwise, just deal with this the best you can in the time being.  Call around to see if you can find an attorney near you or perhaps, give us a call in a month or so.

  I'm sorry but, without being licensed as of yet, there is only so much information I can give you without getting myself into trouble.
