Question
About a year ago I surrendered my Alero to GMAC. They are stating that I now owe $4000.00 to them. I currently do not have a job, a vehicle, and got divorced on June 10th, 2008. I have two children who rely soley on my, as there father resides in Florida now. We are living with my parents who can not afford to help with this bill. Please let me know the likelihood of me being sent to court, and what would happen as I have no money to pay.

Thank you for you time,
Erica

Answer
Erica:

There is no way to answer this question affirmatively insofar as while you have no viable assets, GMAC can be fairly litigious.  If they did sue, they could garnish your wages depending on the state where you live.
