Question Can a company take money from an account if you've used a one-time online payment in the past?I'm in Ohio,Direct tv took money from my boyfriends account with a card they had on file when I used it in July to do a payment online, this card on file had also expired in October? How would they be able to get updated card information? Is this legal??
Answer IN this circumstance, right now for present purposes, the technical legalities of whether or not they can do or can't do what they have done, or for that matter how they did it, just don't matter. What is important for right now is that you or your boyfriend (whoever is the cardholder) get in touch with the credit card company and tell them that this is an unauthlized charge. At this point, they will probably correct this situation and you won't have to worry about this anymore. If that doesn't work, please get back with us and we can then go from there to see what should be the next step.
