Collections Law - Calls

Expert: Chris Ebert - 6/25/2009

Question
How many times in one day can a person call from a financial company? Citifinancial Auto
How can you stop them from contacting the people on file as a reference 3 or more times a day?

Answer
Danielle,

I am not sure that there is a specific number of calls that the law allows.

If you want the calls to stop then you will need to send a cease and desist letter to them via certified mail. Give them a few days and they should not call you anymore.

I have provided a link to a sample letter for you at http://henleycreditlaw.com/pdf/letterC.pdf

If they keep calling after this letter is received keep a log of all the calls. You may want to contact a consumer attorney after that. You can call our firm or go to www.naca.net to find a local consumer attorney.
