Question I have recently pulled my 3-in-1 credit report and found that the three has conflicting information on them. Equifax shows i have no collactions but 4 negative accounts. But when i look at the four negative accounts two of them state that they are collections and they show that i have opened them in 2006 2007. These two accounts have been closed and i have had no contact with them since 2001 2002 but these two collectors show as if i had just opened an account with them.
So i disputed them, on Equifax and also Experian. Transunion shows that i have no negative information, and not collections.
Today i recieved a letter in the mail from Experian stating that they have investigated my disputes and that my two collects have been verified and that i do owe the debts. But my beef is that they have re-aged my account. My worry is that if i make payment arrangements with these people if this going to cause me to live with this false information?
I am tring to get a security clearance an the only thing i can do is clear this bad information. But Experian states that they have verified everything to be accurate. Even though i know it is not. the two collections are 3,600 and the other is 650.00 small debts, but a royal pain.
Can anyone give me advice on what to do?
Answer Jason:
You need to consult with a consumer attorney. If you're in Tennessee, we can recommend a few that we at Apex Credit Services refer our credit repair clients to. Otherwise, go to or Google NACA.
