Question
In May of this year, I was served by a credit card company that I defaulted on. The sum was 7000.00. I had moved and started a new job and didn't have the finances to pay my bill. I don't know what to do now that they have sued me. I don't want to serve jail time and I will lose my car and my apartment if they garnish my wages. My first court date is in 11 days. I haven't responded at all. Do I have any options? What kind of sentencing am I looking at?

Your sentence will be 7 years of bad credit but that sentence won't won't be handed down by any court of law. You haven't committed any criminal act. Just because your wages are garnished don't mean you will lose your car or your apartment. All they can garnish is 25% of your wages. Do you have any options? Of course you do. Go here to see what can happen and what to do about it.

I can easily get you started long before the 11 days are up.

Education/Credentials
Paralegal courses for the most part.
I have been teaching people how to deal with judgments, mortgage foreclosures and other such problems both on and off the internet for many, many years. I am a Richard Cornforth information provider ever since 2000 and worked with many other organizations and causes since 1980. I was Oklahoma State Chairman for the nationwide drive to defeat the Constitutional Convention which was proposed by various factions within our federal government such as the Council of State Governments and the National Organization of State Governors who were working hard to organize a Constitutional Convention to be held in 1995 for the purpose of rewriting our American Constitution to be more acceptable to the United Nations. I worked with Senator Charles Duke of Colorado and Senator Don Rogers of California and many others across the nation to keep them from getting the number of delegate states required to lawfully hold a Con-Con and we were successful. I have worked with many other legislative issues in Oklahoma and have always been very successful.
