Collections Law/30 days past due

Question
What does the law say about payments that are 30 days past due more than once in a furniture store, say Conn's? Every time we make a payment to catch us up, it always seems that we're still behind. We get calls telling us we owe a certain amount and we make the payment, but the next day the calls continue and they always tell us the payment was for the previous month or the month before. I don't trust making payments over the phone w/those people anymore. So since according to them, we're always 30 days past due, Is there a limit of how many times we can be late? We're only $435 close to paying off the account, but we can't make the full payment all at once. I have other bills.

Answer
Julia,

You should only be making payments according to the contract. Before you make the next payment go to the nearest Conn's and get your payment history. See if you really are making double payments. Ask them to show you how you are 30 days behind constantly.

Do not make payments over the phone if you do not want to. I am sure you can make them in store.
