Question
Hi, I have recently applied for a job at a place I was temporarily employed at last year. Cambece Law Firm called my previous employer looking for me today to find my sister. I am being considered for a permanent position there & this phone call certainly didn't help me any. Are they allowed to do that? & How would they know where to find me? I called them back & told them it was unacceptable and the woman hung up on me. Thanks for any feedback

Answer
Wendy:

Under the FDCPA, a debt collector can call a family member once in an attempt to locate a debtor.
