Collections Law/Questionable Judgement

Question
Without getting into the nitty-gritty of the issue, I recently received a letter from a law firm alleging debt from an account dating back to 2001. I requested validation of the debt. (which was absurdly high and didn't make any sense according to my own records). The 'evidence' they sent me in response was a copy of a judgement against me from back in 2007. I'm confused because this 'judgement' doesn't appear on my credit report and yet, here's a copy of one issued in another county 2 years ago. I don't doubt the legitimacy of the document only I don't understand what's going on.
In my request I had asked for proof of the original contract but they didn't send it. I have no idea how to proceed. Is an old judgement I was never informed about going to show up on my report later? How do I contend against this debt now? Please help!

Answer
You will need to go to the courthouse where the judgment is lodged and ask the clerk of the court to see the paperwork in the file. Then ask for copies of all documents in the court file. I'll have to get a look at them to see what can be done. It is easy to copy and paste them into Google Docs and redact all your personal information to protect your identity. Let's start from there or you can scan them in and email them to me. Whichever you wish to do.

Experience

I've been an active consumer advocate for more than 40 years and have helped hundreds of people win cases against debt collectors as well as helping them defeat demands for summary judgment lodged against them by banks, debt collectors and defeat mortgage foreclosures and keep their homes.

Education/Credentials
Paralegal courses for the most part.
I have been teaching people how to deal with judgments, mortgage foreclosures and other such problems both on and off the internet for many, many years. I am a Richard Cornforth information provider ever since 2000 and worked with many other organizations and causes since 1980. I was Oklahoma State Chairman for the nationwide drive to defeat the Constitutional Convention which was proposed by various factions within our federal government such as the Council of State Governments and the National Organization of State Governors who were working hard to organize a Constitutional Convention to be held in 1995 for the purpose of rewriting our American Constitution to be more acceptable to the United Nations. I worked with Senator Charles Duke of Colorado and Senator Don Rogers of California and many others across the nation to keep them from getting the number of delegate states required to lawfully hold a Con-Con and we were successful. I have worked with many other legislative issues in Oklahoma and have always been very successful.
