We have recently got help from a company to help get our creditors paid off. But there is one company that hired Creditor Interchange to try to collect for them. They will leave nasty messages, and say things like we are part of the pre-legal department, that we are claiming to be working with a company that has no funds available ( but we are making payment into a account that will help pay debt that has had payment arrangement to be made or are being settled) and that we are irresponsible and that that is not acceptible. Then they will say that our case is being filed the next day if we don't call them by a certain time. Is this just them being nasty collector and wanting to scare us because if this was an actal legal process they wouldn't be allow to leave those types of messages..Right? They know that they will get there money and that we are working with a company to help us get this taken care of and get back on tract. But they will call and leave very scary messages. We have been told that these are tactic that this company will use, I just don't want to get sued or anything we are trying to get everything settled and taken care of.

It's illegal for the debt collector to harass in such a way. The debt collector can not refer to them self as a legal or prelegal department.
The debt collector can only leave a FOTI message. Your debt settlement company should be well aware of this.
AS for the debt settlement company if your paying more than a 6% flat fee you're paying to much.
