QUESTION: Sir, what is legaly the last date of activity on a credit report?  I am confused! Is it the last payment reported? Please advise. Thank you, Jerry

ANSWER: Jerry:

Pursuant to the FCRA, a furnisher of information and likewise, the credit reporting agencies, are to report the date of last activity as the date of last payment.

QUESTION: according to my credit report the last date of activity was,3-7-03,has the statue of limitations expired for a auto repo for the state of Tennessee?  This date,10-20-09 . Thank you

Maybe, it would either be ten years under the statute of limitations for written contracts or four years under Article 9 of the U.C.C..  It all depends on how your attorney would present your defense and how the judge would interpret his or her argument.
