Question
Hello,

My name is Glenna. I recieved a phone call form CI in November 12th 2009. The person I spoke with told me my file was in their legal department and if I did not pay something now, then CI would put a Lein Assesment on me. They also threatned that I would be charged their attorney fees, court fees and any extra interest on the account. I asked the man If I could pay 50 dollars until my taxes came in and he said no, that they would need 1200 dollars to take my file out of their legal department.I told him I would need to speak to my hsband and if he could call back on saturday. I did get a call but not from him. The call was from a Mr. Thomas. This man proceeded to threaten me with lein assesment and continued to tel me that his legal department is filing papers as we speak and if I could pay the 1200 dollars he could do me a favor, since I sound so sweet, and pull my file. I then told him that I needed to call my mom. I continued to speak with this man for the next 2 months. He kept threatning, lawsuits and kept telling me he would pull my file. I decided to send them 200 dollars. they took that payment. On Feb 4 2010. I spoke to a David Meyer. We agreed on teh settlement that was promised by Demonte Miller, who was fired, not really because I called and asked for him and he answered his cubicle phone. After the payment was recieved from them I continued to get phone calls. First one saying there was a problem with my account. I checked my account online and they took all 2600. I called my bank to verify and they verified. On Feb 11, I got a call saying that they can not accept the payment and it will credited back to my account. They then told me that since Demonte Miller, the man who promised teh 2600 settlement, no longer worked there that they could not homor it after all. The money hasn't hit my account. But when and if it does what do i do? now they want the full amount. They already took the payment. My bank records show it and my bank records also show that no money has been desposited into my account but since it is a long weekend, I'm not doubting that they will try this Tuesday. Please help me. Thank you

Kind Regards,
Glenna

Welcome to the world of scumbag debt collectors.  This company broke several laws and should be dealt with accordingly.  If they state they were going to file a lien, they have to perfect one or face FDCPA violations. Creditors Interchange has a horrible reputation, consumers should never enter into a verbal conversation with this company or any debt collector for that matter.

It's time for professional assistance when dealing with Creditors Interchange we can assist and resolve this issue on your behalf.
