QUESTION: Doctor rendered services in 2005.  Doctor retired and let his medical license lapse in 2007.  Doctor filed suit in 2008.  Can he sue for services though he is no longer a doctor?

ANSWER: What state what this in?

Generally, he has 4 years to file suit on a debt. If he actually does file suit and it has been past the 4 years (since last payment or when you saw him) then you may be able to claim the defense of statute of limitations.

As far as him being licensed any more, I am not positive that him not being licensed is a factor any more. I am sure he is claiming that a debt is owed irrespective of his license or being in business currently.
