Mr. Miller
My Mother Joined a home health care agency in Tucson Arizona
her health Insurance is Humana and she is on the Humana gold
Plus plan. the Agency she has keeps telling her that he
Doctor is hers. Humana says the Doctor is not on that plan
But they keep insisting she is. they order Lab tests for her
saying that Humana will pay it. Humana sent a letter saying
They would not pay it. this Agency insisted they would.
Now she gets a bill for $191.00 Dollars from the lab. which
She was not at fault for because the Agency led her to
Believe that humana would pay for it. should the bill be paid
or how would the lab handle this if it is not paid?
This is a tough one because the lab fees are separate from the doctor. Send the home health agency a certified letter telling them that if this is not resolved, you will report them to the BBB, Consumers Affairs and the Attorney General for your state with in 30 days. Follow through and report them if this is not resolved. Good luck with this.
