Question
My husband pasted away 2 1/2 years ago at a rather young age. At the time of his death, he owned a small company. I immediately closed the company, with the assistance of a lawyer and paid all debts that the company owed. Just recently, I have been getting calls from 1 debt collector asking that I pay a debt that he had that contained his name, and not the companies. The debt is for something that supported his business and not the family.
Am I under any obligation to pay this debt?

I'm sorry about your loss. Depending on the state you live in and when the account was opened you can be held liable. Request the statements from the collector. Find out if this debt was for the company or personal.
