Question
While living in Fairbanks, Alaska I was utilizing Cellular One for wireless Cell service. I have recently moved to Louisiana and contacted Cellular One to cancel my service since they do not provide service, or have any retail outlets in this area. They state that if I cancel my service that even though I currently live in Louisiana and not Alaska I will have to keep my Cellular One service until I have fulfilled my contract requirements, otherwise they will charge me $20 a month for the every month left on my contract plus an early termination fee. Is this Legal.

Answer
I am afraid they can do this. Read your contract to make sure. If it isn't in the contract it is likely they cannot do this but I am sure they have this covered. Offer some kind of compromise. Make an offer and settle if you can, otherwise you may have to bite the bullet and move on.
