Question
I work for a company that has had some very delayed billing in the past. We are currently trying to get things back on track, but are coming across very upset people. When a bill goes out that is sent out "later" than someone patients feel is reasonable. Now..sometimes, it is due to an insurance taking so long to make a decission on what they will pay vs what they want to make patient's responsability, but sometimes it is due to the old billers oversight and lack of follow up on patient portions. What is the legal time restraint to bill out for service, or items rendered? Is there one?

I have been dealing with doctors, medical facilities and insurance companies for years.  I have seen facilities that have MILLIONS outstanding in AP simply because there was no organization or strucure in the company.
