Question Hi.
I was wondering if you can tell me the statute of limitation on debt collections for credit cards in the state of Ohio? I have 3 deliquent cards that are over 7 years old and suddenly collections companies are trying to collect on them. I am getting calls and letters.
Do I still owe these debts and are they collectable in a court?

Answer Hello Beth,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but I am in a hotel right now, just finshing a seminar!
Your issue is very simple. The claim is out of statute. Call the agency and tell them that you want them to STOP COMMUNICATING WITH YOU on this 7 year old matter and that you will NEVER EVER PAY and that you know that the statute of limitations has run.
This process of buying old claims is called "Dialing for Dollars" and if you think about it, there are a lot of people who would just pay the claim.
You do not have to pay this. and if by chance they try and put this on your credit report, then let me know and I will assist you. THAT IS AN ILLEGAL MOVE!
