Collections Law/debt collection for payday loan

QuestionAfter foolishly taking out an on-line payday loan one year ago, and several attempts at reaching this on-line web site to pay it in full, but unable to reach any one to make this arrangement, and being charge high interest fees over and over, I felt I had no choice but to place a block on this automated withdrawal. I felt this would finally draw attention so that I could proceed with paying this debt in full. The only correspondence I received was from some attorney in Florida whose only phone line gave me the single option of leaving a message, but when I tried his mailbox was full. I have received no further response from this attorney or the payday loan company until today from someone named Tracy Scott with Pre-disposition Services. She sounded legitimate throughout our conversation. She was courteous during the initial portion of our conversation while we exchanged stories of our history with this payday loan company, then she placed me on hold for two to three minutes and came back on the line to inform me that the payday loan company "who has shown me no ounce of trustworthiness" do not trust me until Monday to wait for their $500 (the entire loan amount is $300 plus $90 interest which they have received several times)". She stated "I hate to leave you with a black Christmas, Melissa (implying that I stand at risk of being arrested), but the only option they are giving is that you may pay $200 today and the rest within two weeks." I explained to her that they were fortunate that I was even going to have the $500 on Monday and that this was the best I could do. She then said she had no choice but to report this money as "stolen" and that I would be wasting my time and money to even pay it on Monday. I then inquired "You mean they don't even want their money at all?" She replied "That is correct, if you cannot pay $200 today as they have requested then they do not want your money at all. I have to report this as stolen".
Her assistant whom she transferred me to was quite pleasant and seemed to understand fully my need to wait until Monday and verbalized the reasonability of my arrangement.
Now, I don't know what you think of all this, but I am left with the impression that this is merely a scare tactic
leaving me only three hours to come up with $500 at their word and threat. I do not mind to pay what I owe. I just need to know it is truly being applied to correct source and that I will definitely receive credit for this and will not receive a return haunting.
I am a person with integrity and credibility. I am a registered nurse working on my master's degree, and I do not need this irritation as if I am some low life scum.
Please, please reply. I have an attorney ready, but I need to hear from you, as well.
Thank you.

AnswerMelissa,
Sounds like an aggressive collection tactic. It's getting towards the end of the month and the collectors are looking for their commission money. They also broke the law as stating the money is stolen. Yes you can make the payments.
