Question
I had 4 new credit cards, I got behind due to being injured in an auto
accident. 3 are now current and will be paid off by late august, the 4th was
charged off in May and I owe $438. How can I pay this off? I owe the money
but the accident put me behind on everything?

Answer
You may be able to work out a payment plan that fits your budget. First step is to put your budget to paper to determine how much you can afford to pay then put it in writing and send to the creditor or the collection agency. Don't let them brow beat you into paying more than you can afford or you may set yourself up for more serious collection efforts.
