Question
Hello, I was just accepted to join a community college in the area, and am waiting on some red tape to go thru before I apply for pell grants and remembered that 20 years ago my company moved to Mexico and was eligible as well as the everyone else that lost there jobs to a NAFTA program to pay for re-training and schooling. I was told at the time that this offer was good for life. How would I go about finding where to start??? I live in Washington State now but at the time I was living in Idaho. thanks for your time

Answer
Gene,

The best place to start is to contact the Federal Government Office that oversees and handles the NAFTA program, or contact your State Senator, or Congressmen to see if they can help point you in the right direction.  Once you get to the right person... if the program is still available, I am sure they will be able to help.  And by the way... don't be shy - pick up phone and call your Senator, or Congressmen... they get paid from your taxes... so they actually work for you.  Good luck my friend... I hope this helps.
