Hi,

I'm an international student fro Egypt, I found a university in Fairfield, Iowa which provides a Master degree in computer science. (Maharishi University: http://mscs.mum.edu/)

The cost of the program is paid like this:
A down payment of about $3,000 at arrival to the university.

Then the student lives on campus for 8 months.

The rest of the program is done by distant learning, after the student leaves the campus he looks for a job and he starts paying the rest of the cost of the program by monthly installments.

My question is: is it a a known method of funding? Is there any other universities that provide a similar way of payment? Would you name a few ?

Thanks for the question.  The program you're describing is something that is specific to the College you mentioned.  This is obviously a way for them to secure international students wishing to seek a Masters, but do not have the ability to pay full price (up front) for the cost of attending.

This is the first time of have ever heard of such a program at any College... so you're going to have to do some research and your homework on this one to see if any other colleges have special programs similar to this one.

I wish I could be of more help to you... but as I said - this is the first time I've ever heard of this type of program.
