Question
I am a junior at Kean University in New Jersey. I LOVE FOOTBALL, anything about. I love to play it, coach, watch it, everything. I really want to coach college football any division doesnt matter to me, as long as i get the chance. My only concern is that i didnt play football at college and i feel that because of that reason no one will give me the chance. I appreciate your response. Thank you!!

Answer
Rafet, hello again!

I sent an email to you and apparently it did not get through so this may be a repeat answer!

Previously, I stated that most colleges would not consider you because of no experience, but nothing is impossible.  However, your best bet may be to consider coaching youths at a YMCA, or city or county recreational department level, or becoming a football official.  You can contact your local high school football official's association (google your state's high school association).  They have a great deal of knowledge to share and perhaps have contacts to get you introduced into coaching. They can give you a lot of insight on each team's offensive and defensive schemes used, as well as learning the rules of the game that every goof Coach needs to learn.  Your state will advise the coaching certifications needed.

If you apply for work in an Athletic Department of a college, they may allow you to work yourself into Coaching so that is always a possibility.

Keep me posted on your progress!
