Question
My son is a senior in highschool.  He has 8 years football experiance and is looking to play JC Football.  We are currently talking to a few schools, but are looking for more to send his tapes to.  He was not the #1 guy at his position, but has great desire to continue playing and has the full backing of his varsity coach.  We are looking for JC's with smaller teams.  Less than 100 players, or schools that are in a smaller town. (We come from a small town).  Also looking for coaches that look for athletes that are hard working with good character.  Can anyone give us any suggestions?

Answer
Samantha, hello and Happy New Year!

Below are two websites you can research in order to find the schools closest to his home that would meet the criteria.

Welcome to I-AA.org, the worldwide leader in I-AA official news!

Some states do not offer JUCO football, but you can contact the high school association of your state.  They will have information on the schools nearby.  You can also contact your city and county recreation departments, along with the local high school football officials association.  The high schools will have their numbers.  These are the locals that can give you advice about schools and perhaps, the Coach's reputation and standards.  No one really knows the best school or the best Coach, but hopefully it will work out great for your son.

Have a great year!
