QuestionAlright so im a junior at Richland Highschool and i play defenseive line my stats are im 6'0 i wiegh 225, bench 260,squat 410,clean 260, im a very very hard worker and will do anything to go play at a division 1 or maybe a division 2 college. My 40 is about 4'8. I used to play linebacker for along time but our team didnt have much depth at the defensive line area so i moved down but i love playing backer. I recieved a first team all conference award and a first team all area award and i was just wondering how likely it would be for me too get into a divison 1 or 2 college. Also i was wondering what i should all do to greaten my chances of bein known by college football coaches and being scouted my senior year. Thanks alot.
AnswerPeter, Happy New Year !
Your stats low strong. If you keep your weight healthy, many schools would love to have you play for them. You need to contact those colleges of choice to find their schedules for tryouts. Talk to all of the local coaches and football officials from your high school association (are you in South Carolina or Washington?), and to the local city and county recreation departments, along with the YMCA folks. All of them have knowledge to share and names of scouts or coaches for you to call.
Obviously, you need to stay on a good diet, smart weight lifting program (supervised by professionals), stay away from performance enhancing drugs, run as many sprints as you can, run as many sprints as you can, run, run, run, and then show some Leadership. If you're a Leader all of the other stuff works out. Your skills will improve dramatically over the next two years.
Go to Half.com and buy some used books (cheap prices) on Leadership skills, football plays and workouts. You can spend $10-20 on the books and acquire a huge advantage. If you can learn how to defeat your opponent mentally, you can win the battles and the wars.
I promote my youngest son's band so please listen to his music. We hope they'll be famous this year! They've written a lot of new songs that will be released soon but do awesome renditions of John Mayer, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn. They are three talented Lads.
So are you, so get on the team. Let me know so I can track your success over the years. I may even show for one of your games, so hurry up. You're making America hold back!
